About the Author Sang Zilan She graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University and received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. She has served as an Assistant Professor at Stanford University, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Oregon, and is currently a Professor of Modern Chinese Literature at Michigan State University. Her research interests include gender studies, the history of sexuality, modern and contemporary Chinese literature and film, urban studies, and Taiwan studies. About the Translator Wang Qingfeng He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Peking University and is currently a Lecturer at the Center for World Ethnic and Anthropological Studies, Minzu University of China.

國立臺灣大學外文系畢業，美國加州大學柏克萊分校比較文學博士。曾任美國史丹佛大學助理教授，奧勒岡大學東亞語言和文學系中國文學副教授、系主任，現任密西根州立大學現代中國文學教授。研究領域包括性別研究、性史、現當代中國文學和電影、都市研究以及臺灣研究等。
