Atsushi Azuma, Ph.D. in Literature from Waseda University, is a professor in the Faculty of Letters and Director of the Institute of East Asian Studies at Kansai University. Born in January 1956, he graduated from the First Faculty of Letters at Waseda University in 1978 and studied as an advanced visiting scholar in the Department of Philosophy at Peking University from 1981 to 1983. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Chair of the Graduate School of Letters, Chair of the Graduate School of East Asian Cultural Studies, and a trustee of Kansai University. He also holds concurrent positions as Vice President of the Japan Society for Chinese Studies, Director of the Japan Taoist Society, Councilor of the Oriental Society, and Director of the International Confucian Association. His research focuses on Confucian thought in early modern East Asia. His major works include 'An Empirical Study of Zhu Xi's Family Rituals' (2012), 'New Studies on Zhuzi Learning: The Development of Early Modern Scholar-Official Thought' (2017), and 'A Collation of Song Editions of Zhu Xi's Family Rituals' (2020). He has also authored and edited over thirty books and translations.

吾妻重二，日本早稻田大学文学博士，关西大学文学部教授、东西学术研究所所长。1956年1月生，1978年早稻田大学第一文学部毕业，1981—1983年作为高级进修生留学北京大学哲学系。曾任关西大学文学部部长、大学院文学研究科科长、大学院东亚文化研究科科长、关西大学理事；兼任日本中国学会副理事长、日本道教学会理事、东方学会评议员及国际儒学联合会理事。研究领域为近世东亚儒学思想。主要专著有《朱熹<家礼>实证研究》（2012）、《朱子学的新研究——近世士大夫思想的展开》（2017）和《<朱子家礼>宋本汇校》（2020）等，并有译著、编著共三十余部。
